English from England Ltd are UK developers of English language software for young learners who do not have English as their first language.
Based on the Cambridge Starters Syllabus, this is a unique English language learning website where pupils learn English with English children. Its clever use of film means that students can experience England and hear English, in their own classroom or at home, independently. The ICT element means that it is flexible.
English children can be seen and heard online, modelling spoken English in the context of their everyday lives.
After the initial introduction, teachers and parents can let the children explore on their own, so that they can work at their own pace through all of the 6 interactive units to become confident and competentlearners of English.
Users are able to practise what they are learning at any time of the day, in their own time and at moments convenient to themselves.
Because we are a website learners will instantly get the benefits of all updates and additions as they come online.
A learning journey, how it works
All the elements for learning are organised into UNITS. These are carefully graded for continuity of grammar progression but with opportunity for recycling language by revisiting what has already been taught, in different contexts, whilst introducing new words and phrases.
Each UNIT then has carefully designed LESSONS each with WATCH PRACTISE and PLAY features so that children always know how to approach and navigate the learning.
WATCH See and hear the children speaking on film.
PRACTISE Listen and respond to the on line tasks related to the films.
PLAY The learners can now show what they now know.
Some films are sub-titled to enable learners to read as well as listen.
Teacher notes and pupil worksheets can also be downloaded to aid teaching and learning.
